The Imagination Works wishes you all the best in the upcoming Christmas season! Enjoy our website's new Christmas theme!

Two new links have been added to the Links section. Klik-Union is a Klik-product based community website with plenty of games available for download, articles and more while Game Builder is a forum based website that covers quite a few different bases in terms of varying game and software development tools and products.

The Daily Click has announced their 2007 Christmas game-making competition. You have until 11PM on Sunday, Dec 23rd 2007 to submit your "Winter" themed game to The Daily Click for a chance to win a copy of Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer.

Some changes are being implemented to the Imagination Work's support pages. Support links for each game have been removed from their individual pages, instead, you can click on the new "Support" link in the navigation bar for the website. You will be taken to a support page where a list of support pages for each associated game may be found. All products listed on the Products page will eventually have their own support pages accessible from the support page.

So much for a simple upgrade. Today is the release of Velocity Dodgeball v1.2. This latest version is oh so much more than I originally intended, because I couldn't stop working on it, and the to-list got bigger and bigger. In all truth, I had intended to never re-visit Velocity Dodgeball, at least not the original game. After all, it wasn't all that long ago that a sequel was shelved indefinitely. Version 1.2 however is the final spit and polish that makes this game everything I originally intended it to be. Visit the Velocity Dodgeball Website for information on what's new and to download the game!

It's a good time for software developers! Scirra and developers of the software development package "Construct" have announced that "Construct" will be released as open source, free of charge! Please consider a donation to these fine folks to keep 'em going!

It may not be related to the Imagination Works, like many Indiana Jones fans out there, I am getting pretty excited about the new Indiana Jones installment. The movie which is to be called "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is currently being filmed in varying locations such as Hawaii and Los Angeles. You can get lots of great Indiana Jones information from TheRaider.net, my favorite Indiana Jones source.

New screenshots have been added to the Battle of the Planets website showing off the new bonus item system.

"Borris Bug: A Game Full of Bugs", a demo of what was intended to be a much more ambitious "Borris Bug" game (compared to the original) is now available for download from the the Old Products section. The game introduces a more detailed world than in the original game. As with all of the games in the Old Products section, the game includes a readme file for more detail on the game's history and what became of it.

Two new features have been posted on in the Features section, the Did You Know feature which highlights information you may not have known about different Imagination Works products and the Backburner which takes a look at old Imagination Works projects that never really came to be.

Velocity Dodgeball 2 has been removed from the Works section indefinitely. While a re-visitation of the series is still a possibility in the future, other projects that are yet to be announced will likely go ahead sooner.

Development continues on Battle of the Planets. Fall 2007 remains the tentative release time-frame, it could fall back to the Winter as an unexpected move in in the next few months will likely be fairly time consuming.

Scirra has released a public beta of their new software creation tool, "Construct"! I gave it a little test drive myself and while I haven't yet managed to check it out in depth, I can certainly say it's certainly shaping up ot have a fair bit of potential. Check out the website here.

More information on the upcoming Imagination Works games "Battle of the Planets" is now available at the game's website.

Sitesled's new advertisements have created a few issues with this website which you'll have noticed if you visited in the last few weeks. Hopefully, the problem of the navigation bar above being hidden has been resolved. Let me know via e-mail if you notice any other problems. You'll notice below the sidebar there is a problematic advertisement as well, so far, it looks like the website is stuck with it.

A new beta version of Imagination Works Desktop is now available for download. Bv0.29 corrects a resolution error that users would encounter when the program was run in a resolution different than 1024x768. It also dramatically reduces the CPU usage when no modules are running.

Apparently, the web-host (Sitesled) has begun to add banners to the websites they host which has created something of a problem for navigating through this site. The site's link navigation has been moved to the sidebar temporarily until a better solution is found or the banners are removed.

The Imagination Works Desktop The Imagination Works Desktop is now available for download from the iDT Website. You can also download it from the Products page. Both locations also point to new areas concerning iDT including a Modules page which contains a listing on available iDT Modules.

A new link has also been added to the Links section. This one is for the Klik Academy, a website dedicated to providing tutorials and lessons relating to Click products, as well as showcasing finished products. It also boasts an online arcade.

iDT Update has been more or less finished and has entered the final testing stages! Visit the iDT Website for more information by clicking here!

An old product called "Ultra Minigolf" has been given a minor update and released. It is available in the Old Products section.

In just checking around some of the different links for updates, I found that Scirra has updated its website with more information on its new product "Construct". Check it out!

"Space Voyager", a game developed in the mid-1990's has been given a minor update and released. It is available in the Old Products section.

A new article in the Developer Insight section that covers some interesting problems and solutions in the development of "Space Voyager" has been posted.

Some work has been done to iDT Update as it has been decided that a release of iDT more or less requires iDT Update to accompany it. Release should still be sometime in the early part of this Summer.

The game 'Pipes' from Desktop Games 2nd Edition Three older games originally developed from the mid to late 1990's by The Imagination Works (then under the name "Ultraware") have been given minor updates and re-released in what is for the most part, their original form. The only changes made for the most part were a few bugs that had never been corrected when the products were first created and they have been re-"compiled" using Multimedia Fusion 1.5 Build 119.
To download these products, go to the Products section and select the Old Products link on the side menu, or click here.
They have been re-released in conjunction with the new Developer Insight section as future articles will contain screenshots and references to some of these older games.
Battle of the Planets is coming along nicely, some of the multiplayer issues that I was having have been ironed out and now work continues more or less steady on this upcoming Imagination Works release! Check out the Battle of the Planets website here for updated information and the first screenshots! The main game screen from Battle of the Planets

The other day I was checking out YoYo Games (Links) to see what kind of games were being made with GameMaker these days and I have to say I was definitely very impressed with a game I downloaded called "Hover Tank 3D", head on over to check it out! While the game itself I found to be a little difficult, I didn't really spend that much time playing before writing this news bite. It certainly does give you an idea of the flexibility the Game Maker has with 3D applications, which of course is one area where Multimedia Fusion and other family products have very little say in. Impressive, even if this kind of thing has been done before!
There's a new article in the Developer Insight section called "Your First Games"

With the new Developer Insight section, I will be releasing a number of old Imagination Works titles that have never been released before, mainly for the purpose of showing some of my first projects and how they turned out, hopefully providing aspiring developers with some ideas and concepts that are relatively easy to produce.

A new addition has been made to the Imagination Works website called Developer Insight has been started to provide a look at the development of Imagination Works products as well as hints, tips and other ideas relating to game and software development. This feature is accessible from the new "Features" selection in the main navigation bar

Progress on Battle of the Planets continues more or less steady, although I am getting slightly bogged down in the multiplayer side of things to the point where I may just go ahead with the single player version and patch is later with multiplayer capability.
Imagination Works Desktop (known as iDT) will likely be looking at a Summer 2007 release. Additionally, with the release of Multimedia Fusion 2 not too long ago, it may be prudent for me to put off releasing iDT without first updating it within the MMF 2 environment. Whether I do this or not depends on when I acquire MMF 2, such as it is, summertime seems to be likely for an iDT release.

A new hints and tips section for Velocity Dodgeball is now up and running here! Look for new hints and tips sections for other iWorks titles soon as we'll not only cover some of the best strategies, but also reveal a few easter eggs and cheats!

For those interested in amateur game development, I've been checking up from time to time on the Scirra website, showcasing a product called Construct. It looks like the site is once again undergoing renovations... possibly in preperation for a release?

Battle of the Planets The Battle of the Planets website is now up and running here, where you can find more information regarding this upcoming iWorks game.

It's hard to believe that it's been over a month and a half since the last update. It's probably a good thing that the Imagination Works is an outlet of interest and is a hobby, not a job... considering how much (or little) has been done in the last little while.

I'm hoping that this Spring will see the release of Imagination Works Desktop (iDT), visit the website for more information

I'm working on a new title called "Battle of the Planets", 2-4 players will be able to play against one another in an inter-galactic planetary battle in which players will try to plot attack strategies and patterns to bring down their opponents, while playing defensively to protect their planet and its interests. A new website for this game will hopefully be made available soon

If you've ever tried the Game Maker product, you may be interested in a new link that's been added which points to a site called Yo Yo Games, a site dedicated to further pushing Game Maker forward into the spotlight. While I personally wasn't very impressed by Game Maker, It's definitely interesting to see different software development products being showcased
