Biographies for the official VDL teams are found here, including all expansion pack teams

| Team Name |
Biography |
| Laughing Fools |
The reigning champions of the Velocity Dodgeball League, the team has accumulated 14 championship titles and continues to dominate the other 6 original VDL teams. The team was reportedly named "Laughing Fools" after their 3rd position man Quinton. T slipped on a grease spot at the local burger joint during a team meeting and knocked himself out.
|
| Thunder |
Led by star player Garry. D, the Thunder continue to live in the shadow of the Laughing Fools, but haven't done all that poorly considering the 8 championships they have won. The team was named "Thunder" because they had hoped to encourage the crowd to stomp their feet loudly to create the sound of thunder in the arena. The idea came to a "crashing" end when all the stomping led to the cheaply built bleachers collapsing during the teams first ever franchise game. The name stuck, the stomping didn't.
|
| Stars |
In an attempt to bolster their team's winning performance, the team, which began as the "Neophytes" was renamed to become the "Stars". Stars players such as Tim. I and Ryan. K credit the team's four championship banners to this change. Critics however say the name made no difference. The fact they traded their entire original line-up away for new players did.
|
| Raging Red |
A team that has only just tasted it's first championship, the team was rumored to be named after team founder and original number 1 player, Alan. R who was notorious for losing his temper and in doing so, made his face an extrodinarily bright shade of red. Andrew. J who replaced Alan. R in later years can still remember Alan. R's famous tantrum after the Raging Red lost their first appearance in the Velocity Dodgeball Championship game. The team finally tasted victory however shortly after Alan. R's departure.
|
| Headhunters |
The Headhunters haven't yet enjoyed any championship titles. They were reportedly named after a vote was held at local high-schools in which "Headhunters" beat out other choices such as "Flopsy Morons", "Little Pimples", "Bald Men" and a rather interesting entry that was named after a local old folks home.
|
| Yellow Jackets |
The Yellow Jackets are still competing with the Headhunters to avoid being the last of the original VDL teams without a championship title. Despite a few strong seasons, the team's record has underwhelmed their fans and driven away sponsers. Even still however, the Yellow Jackets carry with them great potential. They were aptly named by the team members after a team & families picnic that involved a bucket of chicken, cola, a rock and a nest full of... you guessed it.

| Expansion Teams: VDL Expansion Set 1 |
| Team Name |
Biography |
| Hawks |
Named after an infamous local high-school gym teacher Harvey "The Hawk" Camble who had the uncanny ability to detect pranks before ever happening, and thus, often turning the pranks on the pranksters. One particularly famous encounter which involved current players Don. R and Petr. I attempting to let the air out of Mr. Camble's truck tires. After failing miserably in unscrewing the air-cap, they returned to their vehicles in the student parking lot to find each one covered in toilet paper. This expansion team has yet to secure any real reputation in the VDL.
|
| Wildcats |
Anything but wild, this expansion team has visionary ideas of what could be if they could have a few building years in the Velocity Dodgeball League. Right now however, the outlook is rather dismal. The team continues to struggle in most all aspects of the game. Fortunately, the upside is they have a nifty team name. So say the players anyhow.
|
| Super Stars |
An ultimate new low in one-up-manship. The Super Stars were named simply to be better than the existing team the "Stars". They are anything but super however as they have yet to really show any degree of talent in the VDL. Their team colors were chosen by throwing hoops on a specially modified game of "Twister".
|
| LaZeeBoys |
In no way is this team affiliated with the furniture chain, but the team would in fact, rather be sitting in their recliners watching television than out on the court playing dodgeball. Why do they keep it up then? We're not sure, but part of it may be since all 6 players on the roster still live at home with their parents, we figure their parents are making them play so they get at least some exersize.

| Expansion Teams: VDL All-Star Team Set 1 |
| Team Name |
Biography |
| Show Stoppers |
Originally named "No-Names", the team was sued for copyright and infringement by a large contingent of companies producing no-name products for large supermarket chains. The question on everyone's mind was what should the new name be? The answer came when the team went out to watch a movie. The movie started, and during one frightening scene, Matt. J, uncomfortable with the movie tried leaving but couldn't quite squeeze by some rather large theatre patrons on the outide of the seating row. The disturbance created when staff tried to pry Matt loose effectively stopped the show until the fire department came and pulled him free. The team never looked back. Championship after championship, title after title. The team is one of the VDL's greatest ever.
|
| Stallions |
The team which originally started as a reading club formed to discuss the book "The Black Stallion" first entered the league hesitantly as they weren't used to physical activities. The team suffered a poor 3 pt first season. During the post-season while reading "The Black Stallion Saves The World", Gregory. K was bullied into surrendering his lunch money. The bullies then began mocking "The Black Stallion". Turns out many of these bullies played for a dodgeball team (now defunct) which the Stallions faced off in their next season opener. The Stallions utterly wiped them out. The bullying stopped, and the Stallions began their great march. A few seasons and championships later, the Stallions continue to roll over opponent after opponent, easily becoming one of the top four VDL teams.
|
| Powerhouse |
Named to strike fear into their opponents, this tough team headed up by star players Al. O and Alexander. N round out the roster that has so far accumulated many championships, with many more likely to come, Giving their other top four opponents a run for their money every time, the Powerhouse name was chosen by player Jaden. N, a 300lb body builder whose long standing belief that big, rippling bulk can beat anything has so far been proven mostly correct.
|
| Inferno |
When the franchise was first concieved, nobody really had any creative ideas for naming the team. Piles of scrap paper with un-imaginative names like "Super Stars" and "Cool Dudes" soon formed in the home of the team owner. His frusteration became so great that he stood up and let out an angered holler. His cigarette dropped from his lips and the piles of scrap caught fire. A team name soon came to him. He quit smoking soon after. The Inferno joins the Powerhouse, Stallions and Show Stoppers to round out the top four teams in the VDL.
